About this event
Yabun Festival is Australia's largest one-day celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, held annually on 26 January at Victoria Park in Sydney. Named after the Gadigal word meaning "music to a beat", the festival has been a significant cultural gathering since 2001, building on the legacy of Survival Day events. Presented by Gadigal Information Service, operators of Koori Radio, it features a vibrant program of established and emerging First Nations musicians, dancers, artists, speakers and cultural performers, alongside market stalls and family-friendly activities. The festival offers a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to listen, learn and celebrate the strength, diversity and continuing contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
