Dean Cross X Sidney Nolan: Two Heads

About this event

Two Heads presents new and recent paintings by Worimi artist Dean Cross in the Nolan Gallery at Canberra Museum and Gallery. Cross describes the project as emerging through parallel modes of making, one drawn from Nolan and one from Country and his connection to it as a Worimi man. The works use collage, theatricality, found objects and spray paint. They engage with themes such as the masking of identity in Nolan's Ned Kelly series and colonial Australia's unease within an occupied land.
