Yarning Strong is the First Nations Music Industry Review session presented inside BIGSOUND's Goolwal Goolwal First Nations program. Support Act's First Nations team share where the national review is up to, then open the floor for First Nations music workers to yarn about cultural safety, representation and participation across the contemporary Australian music industry. The review is First Nations-led and follows a key recommendation of the 2022 Raising Their Voices report. What is shared in the room feeds directly into the recommendations that go to industry, funding bodies and government. This session sits within the BIGSOUND conference program and is separate from the Support Act community workshops running in regional centres and online.
