Walk for Reconciliation 2026
Event organiser
About this event
The 2026 Walk for Reconciliation is a walk through the wildflower trails of Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park), a place of deep significance to Noongar people, celebrating the oldest living culture on earth. The day begins with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, and walkers then move together past story points along the trail, with a separate dedicated track for women's business for those who choose it. Timed walking waves depart every 20 minutes from 10am, with the last wave at 4pm, so walkers can choose a wave time that suits them or their group. A main stage program of performances and activations runs throughout the day. The walk is free, but registration is required. Hosted by Reconciliation WA with Reconciliation Australia, as part of All In for Reconciliation.
Good to know
Walk waves every 20 minutes from 10am (last wave 4pm); the walk takes about an hour. A shorter accessible trail suits wheelchairs, mobility aids and prams, with accessible amenities on site. A traditional smoking ceremony takes place. Parking in Kings Park is limited, so public transport is encouraged (Route 935 or the free Blue CAT).
