About this event
Torres Strait Islander facilitators from Bowie Solutions, a Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal family business, teach the foundations of coconut leaf weaving using fresh, hand-harvested coconut leaves. Cultural knowledge and stories are shared throughout the afternoon as participants weave a piece of their own, choosing from a fish, a grasshopper, a windmill or a ball. The workshop is hosted by Aboriginal Art Co, a not-for-profit registered charity that runs hands-on creative workshops led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

All materials are supplied and no previous weaving experience is necessary. Refunds are available up to one day before the workshop.
