Event organiser
The Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health
About this event
The Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health is hosting its annual Fundraising Gala in Sydney for the first time, bringing together community leaders, supporters and change-makers to raise funds for the Indigenous Psychology Treatment Arm of Jilya. The evening will feature an acoustic performance by Peter Garrett and Martin Rotsey of Midnight Oil, hosting by Narelda Jacobs OAM, a keynote address from Jilya Founder Dr Tracy Westerman AM, and stories from Jilya's graduating Indigenous psychology students. The Gala also includes the announcement of the 2027 intake of the Dr Tracy Westerman Indigenous Psychology Scholarship Program, which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to become psychologists in high-risk communities. Funds raised will help provide free access to Indigenous psychologists for Aboriginal communities experiencing critical mental health need, as part of Jilya's broader work addressing Indigenous child suicide prevention.
