About this event
Emily in Sydney brings together paintings by Emily Kame Kngwarreye, the senior Anmatyerr law woman whose work became a defining force in contemporary Aboriginal art. The works come mainly from private Sydney collections, and some have rarely if ever been shown in public. The exhibition returns her art to the S.H. Ervin Gallery, where her first painting was exhibited in 1989. It is part of Sydney Festival's First Nations-led Blak Out program.
