Adorning Country’ Paperbark Workshop with Kylie Colemane

Artist Kylie Colemane will be leading an 'Adorning Country' workshop where participants will make art using 'Gurrundurrung' aka Paperbark, which grows on Darug country and has strong linkages to the health of freshwater and saltwater. In this workshop, participants will explore how Indigenous cultures beautify, symbolise, and connect with their environment and heritage. Kylie will also guide you in preparing and making a wearable paperbark pendant using additional materials like thread and beeswax. All materials will be provided including paperbark foraged respectfully from Country, threads/cotton, recycled plastic needles, beeswax, & native honey. The following will also be provided: paintbrushes, necklace leather thonging to attach to pendants as well as a bee/honey allergy-friendly clear varnish for those who may need it. 🗓️ 10am-12pm.
