About this event
A hands-on weaving workshop using lomandra, a native plant with deep roots in First Nations culture on Gadigal and Bidjigal Country (the land on which Randwick council is located). Learn about lomandra's ecology and traditional uses, prepare your own fibre, and create a small woven piece to take home. This workshop is suitable for adults of all experience levels. What to expect: • Expert-led hands-on workshop • All materials including locally harvested plants • Participants will learn about traditional uses of local plants, improving connection to land and capacity to create decorative and functional art. Please note: • All ingredients are locally and sustainably sourced. • Content rotates seasonally to feature different plants and address seasonal needs. The Saturday Circle This event is part of the Saturday Circle, a monthly repair, share, regeneration, reuse and resilience-building get-together at the Randwick Sustainability Hub, 27 Munda St, Randwick. Held every second Saturday of the month, most events are from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
