About this event

Join a hands-on traditional weaving workshop at Killalea Regional Park, led by a senior Aboriginal NPWS guide. Participants will learn to weave using local grasses, reeds and other natural materials, creating their own handwoven piece to take home. The guide will share how Aboriginal women have traditionally woven baskets, carry bags and other everyday items, highlighting the strong cultural connection these ancient skills hold for local Aboriginal women. This workshop offers an accessible introduction to Aboriginal culture and traditional practices for people of all ages.
