About this event

INTRODUCTION Following our community workshop in August 2025, we are looking forward to returning to share updates on our research progress, new initiatives, and opportunities that can benefit Indigenous communities. Join us to learn about the work of the Cooperative Research Centre for Transformation in Mining Economies (CRC TiME) and explore opportunities to collaborate on research and community-led projects. We want to hear from you about what you think is important to improve mining and post-mine transitions. We’d also like to share resources that may be useful for you based on what you said was important last year, including: • On mine closure planning. • Restoring and caring for Country after mining. • Indigenous business opportunities in mine closure and transitions. • Addressing multiple social, environmental and economic effects on mining. Where we can, we’re also seeking to support and partner on research that is led by, or co-developed with, Indigenous people to address these and other priorities in mine closure and transitions. Sharing wider updates This workshop will also bring together organisations currently working across the Pilbara to provide updates on their activities, share knowledge, and identify opportunities for collaboration. It is an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss how research, industry and communities can work together to support positive and lasting outcomes for Country and future generations. We welcome Traditional Owners, Indigenous businesses, community members, industry partners, METS and other organisations to join the conversation and help shape future research and partnerships.
