About this event

An evening of cultural food and yarns at the Makers Space on the University of Tasmania's Cradle Coast campus, celebrating the 2026 mutton bird harvest. The gathering honours the cultural knowledge and practices carried through generations of Tasmanian Aboriginal families who continue the mutton bird season, and brings students, staff and community together to share a feed and stories. Hosted by the Riawunna Centre for Aboriginal Education, which works with Aboriginal Elders and community members to deliver culturally grounded events across the University's campuses.

Good to know

All welcome. The Makers Space is the building at the very front of the West Park campus at 2–4 Bass Highway, Burnie. RSVP through Humanitix so the centre knows catering numbers.
